Before you decide you are ready for
the responsibility of caring for a dog; you need to be aware that it
isn’t all fun and games. There are a variety of dog problems that
may present themselves. You need to be confident that you are
willing to take on those challenges. While some of these problems
are more common with certain breeds of dogs, you just never know
what the personality of your new pet is going to be like until you
get it home and see what takes place on a daily basis.
One of the most common dog problems in the beginning has to do with
using the bathroom in locations that you aren’t happy with. This can
be inside of your home or even around your yard that you usually can
enjoy without worrying about it. This is a common problem because
dogs will want to mark their new territory. If you continue to
employ some training techniques though your dog will quickly learn
where it is acceptable and where it isn’t.
Barking is another one of the more common dog problems out there.
You will find this can be due to boredom, defending their territory,
being excited, or a variety of other reasons. Regardless, a barking
dog can be annoying to you as well as very distracting to your
entire neighborhood. Make sure you do all you can to find an
effective solution for this problem immediately.
Among dog problems are those that jump on people. This isn’t so much
of a concern with smaller dogs, but if you own one that will grow to
be medium or large sized then you want to take care of it while they
are still a puppy. Many people don’t like dogs jumping on them. They
can even knock someone off balance, especially small children. Often
their jumping up is the result of being excited to see someone but
you still want to find a way to cure them of it.
Nothing is more frustrating then coming home to find your dog has
been chewing on furniture, shoes, or other items around the house.
These types of dog problems end up being expensive too if you have
to replace items often. This can also stem from boredom or not
having toys that they can chew on. Look for a solution that gets
results so that you aren’t coming home this type of destruction.
Getting enough exercise is important for you as well as for your
dog. However, you want to be the one taking him or her for a walk –
not the other way around. These types of dog problems won’t go away
on their own. In fact, the longer you allow your dog to do this the
harder it will be to break it later on.
There are very effective ways you can go about letting your dog know
that he or she is walking appropriately. Positively reinforce the
positive behaviors and you can even stop walking for a bit when bad
behaviors are in place. You want to be able to enjoy a leisurely
walk with your dog so make sure you don’t let this problem get out
of control.
Being prepared for such dog problems is very important. You don’t
want to be overwhelmed by your new pet. Some of these problems will
emerge early on while others can develop later. Make sure you take
the time to find out what may be triggering such behavior issues.
That way you can come up with the best possible solution to resolve
it.
With the DIY Dog Training package, you will get valuable
resources that you can use to make that part of the process very
smooth. |
